Fashion designer, Heron Preston, has made it his mission to identify sustainable solutions for the fashion industry – beyond the apparel he designs. As part of a collaboration with VIA Partners HP and Futamura, Haney assisted Heron Preston in the development of a compostable garment bag to replace the traditional plastic polybag.
The limited-edition pilot program consisted of 200 compostable pouches for individually packaged garments. Featuring Heron Preston’s artwork, the pouches were printed on Futamura’s NatureFlex™ film and serialized using HP Indigo variable data printing on the HP Indigo 20000 Digital Press.
The limited-edition pouches were presented at the Museum of Plastic at Art Basel in Miami on December 5, 2019.
